Dear Dr. Z,
Can I get smaller implants less than 2 weeks Post-Op? I want them smaller NOW. I know my skin is getting stretched & I want to go smaller before it’s too late so they don’t look saggy with smaller implants. This is exactly what I didn’t want & I felt like I had great communication.
Try hard to be patient: you will likely be rewarded by realizing replacement isn’t necessary.
• Your breasts look bigger now, because
◦ Yes, you are swollen and
◦ You need time to get accustomed to the change
• Your writing: “but I want them smaller NOW” would indicate:
◦ you might be so fearful that you are over-reacting: don’t panic!
◦ You also wrote: “I felt like I had great communication”
■ for now, trust your judgment and your surgeon
• “I know my skin is getting stretched & I want to go smaller before it’s too late so they don’t look saggy with smaller implants.”
◦ if you do decide to go with smaller implants in the next few months, your breasts will almost certainly adapt well without getting over stretched and saggy.
Give yourself about 2 months and re-evaluate.
Dear. Dr. Z,
CC started 2 months after surgery. I need new implants and now lift, what are my options?
Non-Surgical Treatments may be appropriate, particularly within a couple of months of your original augmentation. Non-surgical treatments to consider with guidance and supervision of your Plastic Surgeon may include the following:
• Aggressive manipulation techniques
• High dose Vitamin E
• Ibuprofen
• Prescription medication (Accolate/Singulair)
• Avoiding caffeine
Ultimately, the best specific options (surgical or non-surgical) for you are best determined in consultation with your surgeon or in second opinion consultation with a well qualified, experienced Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon.
